Description: This project will resurface approximately 1.5 miles of Willow Highway between Elmwood Rd and Waverly Rd in Delta Township. Work will include constructing new curb and gutter along both sides of Willow Hwy, cold milling the existing asphalt, new asphalt surfacing, drainage improvements, realignment of the Grand Woods Drive approach, and bicycle lanes.
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) awarded the project to the low bid of $820,035.73 from Reith-Riley Construction Co., Inc.
Federal Urban Surface Transportation Program funds will pay 77.5% of the contracted construction costs on the project. The local matching costs not covered by grant funds plus design and construction engineering will be shared by the Road Commission and Delta Township.
The project will be constructed in three phases: Arden to Waverly; Arden to Grand Woods Drive; and Grand Woods Drive to Elmwood. Each phase will close that section of the road and be open to local traffic that only has access from Willow Highway. The entire stretch between Elmwood Road and Waverly Road will be closed to through traffic during construction.
