Our Mission

Our mission is to maintain all Eaton County roads and bridges that are under our care in a condition that is reasonably safe and convenient for public travel and to faithfully discharge such other duties as state law may require. This mission is carried out by skilled, hard-working staff.

The Eaton County Road Commission (ECRC) is responsible for over 1,170 miles of county roads. The majority lie outside incorporated areas. ECRC also provides traffic control and maintains the roadsides.

In collaboration with other governmental units, the Road Commission works diligently to maximize every dollar available for road maintenance and construction. Additionally, ECRC’s work is a cooperative effort — a partnership with residents, townships, cities, and the county.
