Duties
Duties include but not necessarily limited to – sweeping, shoveling, lifting objects weighing upward to 80lbs, walking/standing long periods of time in all types of weather, cleaning, pruning of brush, grass mowing, patching asphalt, concrete, gravel and other roadway surfaces, using rakes, shovels, trimmers and other hand tools and placing/moving/pickup of signs, barricades, and traffic control work.
Requirements

Candidates should have a 2 year degree in construction management or a high school diploma or GED supplemented by additional vocational training in computer-aided drafting and three years of experience in construction work. Prior work on federal aid construction projects is preferred. Applicant must have the ability to deal with the public courteously and effectively; work cooperatively with and supervise other employees. The hourly wage range for this position is $24.85 to $32.30 depending on qualifications, together with a competitive benefit package. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of experience as a heavy truck and construction equipment mechanic, a Commercial Driver’s License as required by state law with an “X” endorsement and must possess their own personal hand tools. Experience in engine electronics on modern equipment desirable. Starting wage for the position is $24.43/hour with a 1.5% increase in the hourly rate of pay for each area State Certification and license among the following: Engine Repair-Gasoline, Engine Repair Diesel, Drive Train Repair, Brake and Brake System Repair, Suspension and Steering Repair and Electrical System Repair.
