With the upcoming warm temperatures, seasonal weight restrictions will go into effect on Monday, February 16, 2026. Contractors prepare their schedules well in advance of start dates, and because warming temperatures are unpredictable, they can’t always plan around spring weight restrictions. As a result, weight restrictions will not permit the contractor to mobilize the appropriate equipment to begin the project as originally scheduled.

Although the original start closure date was February 16, the bridge closure will be postponed until mid-March, at which time the bridge will be closed for construction.
